The first earthquake of my life

Last night, i experienced the first earthquake of my life. The largest earthquake to hit Britain in 24 years. The tremor measured up to 5.2 on the Richter scale.

I was msn-ing with yinghui when suddenly my table was shaking. I was really very scared. Thought something was wrong, why did the table suddenly started shaking by itself! Then yinghui said issit earthquake? but i kind of brushed her off coz I didn't expect Britain to have earthquakes. Only when I read the papers today, then did i realise it was really an earthquake!

Suspect I'm going to fall sick again. Started sneezing several times a day yesterday and today. And now, my throat is beginning to feel itchy. I fear for the worst.......

2 more months!

2 more months and I'll be home!

Nothing exciting these days. But today was one of the few times I have a client in London city itself. And it was in one of the best locations at The Strand. And I actually got to buy a can of diet coke for 20p from the vending machine!! It was a tip-off from the canteen guy. I wanted to buy from the canteen and it costs 60p. And he told me that the machine sells it for only 20p! Haha my colleagues were still saying we should buy some and sell on the streets for 35p! Still cheaper than Tesco. Such are the benefits of a big co.

I got my camera back today! I miss it soo much... Thanks to liping who brought it all the way back from sg for me! To those who didn't read my blog on Spain trip, I dropped my cam on the hard ground, and it cost me S$180 to get it repaired in sg :(

Today is also yuan xiao jie. Come to think of it, I didn't really had much of a CNY celebrations at all. In fact, other than the dinner at Jessica's place, the dinners are all going to be post-CNY celebrations. Haha.. my quietest CNY ever...

Old Trafford 16 Feb 2008 - 4-0 to Man Utd!

Yesterday was my 3rd time to Manchester, and 2nd time to catch Manchester United in action. It also marks the 2nd time I see them win 4-0! Maybe it's my luck? haha.. I should go watch them again in Apr against Arsenal and pray that they also win them 4-0 again!


Had some time to walk around the city. Hard Rock Cafe. The last time I took a pic of it, it was at night, and the effect was not so nice.

My ticket :) it's a very good seat. 23 rows from the front! I decided to get the most expensive tix coz I wanna sit near to the action!


Lots of fans waiting. I was waiting there for around 1/2 hour too. But totally had no clue as to what I was waiting for. So I decided to leave after 1/2 hour.


Me in my Man Utd jersey! First time wearing it :) But too bad the ang moh who took the pic for me, once again, had not much of a skill. So me and my jersey were chopped off.

This time, I also travelled in style! Took first class train! :) Haha.. only because it costs less than £10 more than the standard tix for return journey. Since it's a 3-hr ride one-way, I thought why not just spend £10 more and get more comfort?

Trip to Oxford

It had been a busy 1 week at Oxford on my away job. Although the client is not a big one, but there is still a lot of work to be completed in 1 WEEK.

Anyways, the client finishes at 1pm on fridays. but we managed to stay till 230pm before we got chased out. Got back to Oxford at around 330pm to catch train back to London. But the weather yesterday was so good, I decided to stay back and take a short tour around Oxford. (Oh, my client is actually situated 20min car ride out of oxford. and the hotel where I stay is also out of the Oxford town itself.)

After lugging my luggage to a hostel to keep (coz the train station doesn't provide locker services), I embarked on my tour of Oxford by getting on the city tour bus at 345pm.

I like Oxford. I like the crowd and buildings there. It makes me so envious of the students there for having the chance to study at Oxford. It makes me miss studying life. Although mine is nothing like theirs. I had to chase 179 or 199 everytime to get to class. but here, they cycle around the whole town. The town is basically a university town which revolves around Oxford university and its various colleges.







It was a really short tour of around 2hrs before the sun sets down. Short but good trip. I'll definitely be back at Oxford, this time as a tourist during summer.

Good news is that the day is getting longer. Sun sets around 5pm instead of 4pm. Spring is in the air, as BBC weather reports :)

Happy Lunar New Year!

My first chinese new year away from home.

And the worst thing is, I'm even going to be away from home in London :(
Will be out on job at Oxford. I'm usually excited about away jobs, but not this time.

Really quite sad. My friends they are organising a reunion dinner on wed nite. Too bad I cannot join them! boo hoo....

Anyways, happy properous new year! Hope this year, everything will go smoothly, and may the economy start to improve soon! :)

A380 - Yay I'm coming home earlier!

Yay!! I've changed my flight and will be coming home 4 days earlier! Reaching on 20 Apr 7.45am on an A380 :)

SQ is soo good.. they allowed me to change my flight at no extra charges. Not like some other airlines which actually charged my friend £30 for changing it!
