my 2nd CNY away from home. feels awful.. especially when I called my family, they were having sharks fin, roast chicken, lao hei w/o me!

We went for reunion dinner at Chinatown and to enjoy abit of the 气氛 Nothing special to be honest. and it was drizzling. so it wasn't the best of experiences. Hopefully this weekend the weather will be better (and I don't need to work!).

Been a super busy 3 weeks gone by. Probably will get busier. Not sure if u all are aware, but KPMG in the UK has announced some plans to tackle the recession and to avoid massive redundancies. Its all still in a voluntary stage. I'm probably going to sign up for one of the options and take a long break to go home. So the next time I'm home is probably Aug-Oct. and hope to throw in a trip to HK / Macau and Bali also... Still in the plans now. Not sure if it will happen. So, Mayday, F1 and SX's wedding, hopefully here i come!!!

First few days of Jan 2009..

The start to 2009 hasn't been a good one. I was down with flu + sore throat since I came back from Andorra. But i've since got better after medicine and lots of water. And I finally signed up and visited a doctor since arrival in London in Mar 2007. Not that it was so serious that I had to see a doctor. Just to register myself. The system here is sooo different from SG. On mon (29 Dec), I called to ask if I can register with the doctor. The nurse said ok since they are still accepting clients from Eden Grove (where I stay). Over here, the doctors will decide if they want to accept you as their patient.

Anyways, so I went to register on Mon. The receptionist informed me that the nurse is only able to meet me on Wed for a medical check up to take my height/weight/medical history etc.

After the check up on Wed, the recep said the doctor is available to see me on Fri. Seriously by Fri when I saw the doc, I had almost recovered. haha...

anyways, spent new year's day at home with a small party at my place for new year and for Tim's farewell party. I'm quite sad that Tim is leaving to go back to Perth. He had been a really good friend that I've got to know here. And jianyi is also going back soon... seems like 2009 is the year that my frens are starting to go back. Will it be my year too? hmm...

Mayday's album came with the 通行证 to their album promotion performance in SG.. but so sad I cannot go!!! Boo hoo!! I miss them! Wonder when will I get to see them perform again?

I was on my way to High St Kensington to seek refund for the spoilt ski googles which I bought. Halfway, the bus driver announced that the bus is diverting so we had to walk to High St Ken. As I walked towards HSK, I realised there were alot, alot of police cars and policemen.. After asking a policeman I realised there was a protest outside the Israeli embassy.

The protest was really quite massive. After standing around for a few minutes to see see and take photos, I started to feel abit intimidated.

May 2009 bring peace to the world...
