Switzerland trip part 3 - Interlaken
The next 4 nights of our stay in Switzerland was at Interlaken. Interlaken serves as a very central point to explore the mountains and other surrounding cities.
Early in the morning, we got onto the Golden Panoramic train for our journey to Interlaken. This train is really cool, with ultra big windows to let you enjoy the magnificent views along the way. And we decided to upgrade ourselves to First class to pamper ourselves abit for this leg of the trip since its supposed to be very scenic.
View along the way.
Upon arrival at Interlaken, after checking the weather forecast with our very friendly hotel owner, we decided to head to Jungfrau first.
One of the few trains we caught to bring us to Jungfrau.
Jungfrau is not exactly the tallest mountain in Swiss or Europe. However this is the highest point that anyone can get to in Europe, hence the name - Top of Europe.
Town Wengen - A town where we changed trains to get back to Interlaken.
Town of Lauterbrunnen. According to locals, the name Lauterbrunnen is a combination of lauter meaning many, and brunnen meaning spring, fountain, or well. Indeed this is very true as there are many many waterfalls in this town.
This is 1 example of a magnificent waterfall.
Enjoying roast chicken along the street.
My first time trying the cheese fondue! Not really to much liking actually... although I'm a big fan of cheese.
Rosti with a fried egg. Yummy!
